Searching for Sonray
Some of you have been searching for me.
I am Poetry. I am movement. I am life.
And we
are now...connected.
As the sun shines
even at night
so shall my words
serve as a portal into my life.
Just as the son shines
right hand woman to
the divine
then again
I shine
And I am
his steadfast subject.
My words...are his reflections.
Some of you have been searching for me
and I here to tell you
that you have been searching for yourself.
As you explore this website
and dive
deep into my multifaceted personality
look past the words, pictures and resumes….
and taste my essence.
Some of you have been searching for a SONRAY…
Your search is over…

FIRST ANNUAL POETRY & PEACE DAY WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!!!
Mrs. Maryland implemented the first Poetry & Peace day at KIPP Ujima Village Academy on December 12th 2008. With the support of Congressman Elijah Cummings, Mrs. Maryland developed Poetry & Peace Day as an opportunity for students to write and recite poetry about their life experiences and poems that express peaceful conflict resolution skills. Mrs. Maryland was originally told twelve students were going to participate; however we received two hundred submissions!! The media covered event was filled with excitement. The poetry performances were amazing, Mrs. Maryland presented the students with a recognition citation from Mayor Sheila Dixon, Congressman Elijah Cummings sponsored the student's trophies and the school also received a donation from the Baltimore Orioles Foundation!!! Everyone involved was truly blessed; I thank God for giving me the vision and manifesting it into reality. More pictures are coming soon.
