Regena is a multi-talented journalist. She attended the University of Michigan and received a B.A. in Communications. Filled with passion and purpose, she beat the odds and landed her first job in television in a top-ten market, WDIV-TV, the NBC Affiliate in Detroit. As a producer and field reporter she covered hard hitting news-crime, money laundering and city politics. A news director in Washington, DC recruited Regena to be a reporter and producer on Capital Hill. Regena not only survive the politics in the Nation's Capital, she thrived! Over the course of thirteen years in D.C., her broadcast career includes C-SPAN, Dateline, Nightline, The Office of Cable Television & Telecommunications, Interfaith Voices and the Kojo Nnamdi Show (NPR). She set her heights again and finished a Masters Degree program in one year! Regena holds a M.A. in Journalism & Public Affairs. As a committed professional stepping in to ensure accurate news is shared, Regena has held several positions as a reporter, producer, anchor and host. Some of her most memorable stories she covered includes, the 911 Terrorist Attack. She recalls standing amongst the smoke at the Pentagon days after the tragedy. Other stories include Operation Iraqi Freedom, a White House conference, the 2000 & 2004 Presidential Elections. Her experience includes interviewing people from all walks of life-the unsung hero, celebrities, politicians and community notables.
Regena has proven to be a leader in the media industry as well as in her community. Having realized youth needed creative after-school programming, Regena began mentoring children and developed a non-profit charity. She is an avid reader, poet and give empowering motivational talks. Regena loves to tell stories via a speech or newscast. She began a new chapter in her life as News Director for TV6 & FOX UP. This servant leader is thrilled to be back in her Michigan to lead a dynamic team in the close knit Upper Peninsula.
